London Borough of Hounslow appointed Around the Block and MTW Consultants to undertake a Baseline Review and Stakeholder Strategy for Dukes Meadows a 200 acre park in Chiswick. This is an important site for rowing, football, tennis, rugby, hockey, cricket and golf as well as jogging and picnicking.
MTW carried out detailed consultations with some 14 leaseholders, the majority of which were private and voluntary sports clubs together with relevant National Governing Bodies of Sport including the FA, Lawn Tennis Association, British Rowing, England Cricket Board, the RFU, London Youth Rowing, local schools and tenants residents associations. Two stakeholder meetings were organised to build consensus on proposals to upgrade the park and develop new projects. Baseline data was gathered on the site, visitor numbers were established and preliminary feasibility work carried out on a number of possible joint new facility projects. The results were fed into the next phase of the work which will be a Masterplan for the area.
