MTW undertook an options appraisal and feasibility study of a number of uses for a Grade II listed mansion and associated Stable Block and Glass houses in Springfield Park in the north of Hackney.
The study involved an assessment of the catchment area, consultations with a range of stakeholders, soft market testing of community and commercial interest in the buildings, review of best practice in similar park buildings and recommendations for an optimum mix of uses meeting Council criteria for sustainability and local social and health targets. A Business plan was drawn up for the preferred option. The Council used the study in its successful Stage 1 HLF Parks for People bid and is now developing an HLF Stage 2 bid to take the project forward.
